You don’t have to wait until things are perfect to be happy.

You can find a way to be happy while working on your issues.

Many people shut themselves out from happiness by telling themselves that things have to be perfect before they are entitled to be happy. It is a matter of focus. If you focus on what is wrong, happiness can’t break through. On the other hand if you focus on what you are doing to work though your issues, happiness can occur.

Don’t you deserve to be happy today?

Be more picky about what your thoughts are.

Most people aren’t as picky about what they think as they are about what they want on their hamburger.

All kinds of stuff rolls into your consciousness during the course of a day. Do you just let it all in, unscreened, unchallenged? Do you compare it to what you need given your goals? Your mind will help you “pre screen” a lot of the incoming information if you set up parameters such goals, objectives, etc and review them daily to let your mind know what you want and don’t want.

The world is sending information your way, are you ready?

What is the one thing standing between you and success?

Resistance.

Whenever we start to take a step towards our goals, resistance shows up. Resistance is unique in that it immediately engages the fight-or-flight mechanism, and you never know how you are going to react until you are confronted with it. The key to fighting resistance is to reconize it when it pops up as it takes many different forms. Then make yourself believe that what you want to accomplish is bigger, way bigger, than what stands in your way.

Resistance is waiting for you, do you know what to do?

Stay out of the drama.

Getting involved in other people’s drama is a sure way to pull yourself down.

Drama is all around you and people are always trying to pull you into the drama in their life. It can be exciting, that is for sure, but if you step back you will realize that it distracted you big time and probably took a psychological toll on you as well. A lot of this type of stuff is probably coming from just a few people in your life, so see what you can do to limit your exposure to them.

Keep the drama out of your life and on the stage where it belongs.

Here is the first step towards being happy.

Learn what makes you happy. Sounds simple doesn’t it, but you would be surprised.

Many people really don’t have a firm understanding of what really makes them happy. They are so busy with their lives, they have not sorted out their feelings and they have changed over time. They know what they don’t like and what they kind of like but that is pretty much it. So you have to begin to take an inventory of what experiences make you happy.

Begin to sort out your feelings of happiness so you can bring more of them into your life.

The glory or defeat of yesterday is over and does not determine what will happen today.

Once you learn what went right or wrong yesterday, today is the only thing you should think about.

So many of us live in the past and are afraid to live in the present. Today is an unknown. You can make today less of an unknown by taking steps to give yourself more control. Think of your goals and how they fit in with what may happen today. Right away you have more of a sense of control and you are better able to steer events in your favor. As you apply the things you have learned to events as they unfold, you can see things begin to break in your favor. And that fear of today will fade away.

You can’t see opportunities coming your way if you are looking in the rear view mirror.

Seek middle ground when it comes to listening to feedback.

Your productivity can increase dramatically if you use feedback to grow.

The problem is that too little feedback does not allow for growth and too much feedback will waste your time. The trick is to know how much is enough and that is more art than science. You probably know if you are shutting all feedback out. Some listening skill lessons are in order here. And you probably know if you life seems full of just feedback. So begin to find a middle ground and see how you do.

How to stop wasting much of your life.

Odds are you are wasting at least 50% of your life.

All of us waste some time in the course of the day. No matter how much time you waste, here is a way to make yourself more productive. Start by noting how much time you are spending on social media. I bet you will be floored. And how about those endless texts that amount to nothing but time killers? Throw in some basic video and music searches and you have pretty much eaten up a big hunk of your day.

Look at what you are about to do and ask yourself if it moving you towards or away from your goals.

Stop pitying yourself.

Self pity only makes things worse for you.

If you spend time feeling sorry for yourself for any length of time, you are stopping your progress. Yes, setbacks hurt and yes you should acknowledge them. But don’t get stuck in self pity. Chances are, no one is coming to save you and it will be up to you to fix your problem. So Instead use the time to see what went wrong and what you can do to fix it. Then do what you can to fix it.

Wipe away the tears and see what you can do to improve things.

Use your passwords to speed success.

Use affirmations as passwords to reinforce your goals.

Written goals are catalysts; they serve as transforming agents for success and achievement. Since passwords are written they are a natural tie in to this concept. This simple act of repetition and reinforcement will take place several times throughout each day. By utilizing this strategy, you will have created a positive intervention between you and your goals which means you are consciously maintaining focus on and reinforcing your commitment to this particular goal.
