One Minute Motivator # 186

One Minute Motivator # 186

Own your problems.

Take responsibility for the bad things that happened to you in the past, even if you are totally convinced they were not caused by you.

No matter what has happened to you, take complete responsibility for it—good or bad, victory or defeat. Own it. We resist taking ownership of issues we had in the past, because it is painful to think we had something to do with them. But while painful, it is freeing to do it. If you spend time fighting things in the past, you are working on something you can’t help and you are no longer moving forward.

Now is the time to own a problem from the past that is bugging you.

Your life is right now, right here!

Life is not what happened before, that’s history. Life’s not later, that’s the future.

Many of us spend out life waiting for our life to begin. We have all these great plans for what needs to happen before life begins. Things will be great once so and so happens. . Your life is right now. It will always be right now. You might as well decide to start enjoying your life right now, because it’s not ever going to get better than right now—until it gets better right now!

This is your life, go for it!

I know you are asking the right questions. But are you answering them?

Most people tend to question what they are doing, but then they don’t wait for the answer.

Questioning what you are doing is a great way to see if you are on course with your goals and other aspects of your life. But it there is even the slightest pause in an answer coming back, we tend to move on without waiting for the answer. This causes us to miss some very valuable information about where we are at in our lives. You are just a few seconds away from incredibly useful feedback, but you walk away from it.

Wait for the answers to your questions, you will be amazed at what is coming.

Your time is running out.

Every day brings you closer to death. Are you using the time you have left wisely?

No one likes to think about dying, but the truth is that it is coming to each of us. Where we differ is what we do with the time we have. Few of us know when we will die so it is hard to plan for it. I recommend that you live your life to the fullest to the extent that you can. Some balance is needed as chances are that you will see many more days, Quitting your job, etc. will come back to haunt you. Plugging in “Achieving Happiness” to your goals is a reasonable step.

Next time someone says “have a good day”, make sure you do.

How to keep motivated when things drag on.

Lets face it, most projects drag on and it gets depressing. Here is how to stay motivated over the long haul.

First remind yourself why you are doing what you are doing. Maybe you don’t even have to be doing what you are doing. And if the project is still worthwhile you will be reenergized by knowing that. Then track your progress and celebrate what you have accomplished so far. Give yourself a pat on the back it really helps you feel good about the project again. Lastly remind yourself life is a marathon, not a sprint.

OK pick a project that has you bogged down and try these tips out.

Know that problems lie ahead but don’t let that stop you.

Unforeseen problems come with every project you start and you must cling to your goal throughout.

I don’t have to tell you that Murphy’s Law and the Law of Unforeseen Circumstances kick in with every important venture you start. But what won’t automatically kick in is your ability to look beyond the negativity and get the job done. To do that you have to look back at your goal in starting the project and the reasons behind that goal.

Problems await you so it is time to start thinking of why you are doing things.

Four things you must do when facing a problem.

Everybody has problems but hardly anyone handles them like this.

When facing a problem, first you must focus on the future, look at the way you want things to be. Then you look for the solution. What is the fix? Then you look for the good that came with the problem. You know the silver lining thing. It is true. Lastly look for the lesson that came with the problem. What did you learn from it?

I know you have a problem, lets see how you do now.

Ease up on your big vision.

If you big vision is giving you paralysis, it is time to lighten up.

I love big visions; they can motivate us to reach new heights. But they can cause us to crash if we freeze up when trying to work on them. How do you feel when you are working on your big vision? If you are energized, keep it up. If you are tanking due to fear it is time to ditch that vision and find one that hits that “sweet spot” between hyper activity and no activity.

So how are you feeling right now? You know what you need to do next.

Too Many Great Opportunities Costs You Every Opportunity.

You need to focus on just a few of your top priority goals or else you will get bogged down in too many things.

It is great to want to do all those things you want to do and it is so so hard to say no to things you really want to work on. But say no you must. If you take on more than a few projects, soon you will be lost in a maze of details, not knowing where to start or what to do next. And you will accomplish nothing.

Start reviewing what you are working on right now and cut the lesser projects out today.

Rock bottom is a great foundation to build on.

Hitting bottom is an awful experience and it is also a new beginning.

It is over, you can’t fall any more, you are at the bottom but you are alive and able to begin to pick up the pieces and move on. You know how you got there and you know what you need to get off the bottom. Every effort now can only move you up.

Acknowledge you hit rock bottom and start looking for the way out.
