One Minute Motivator # 439

People will always be offering you excuses. Don’t take them.

Out of kindness many people will offer you excuses for why you failed. They are hurting you instead.

If you accept other people excuses, you stop learning about what really went wrong and you are almost certain to fail again If you really want to succeed you must face your failure and learn how to make the best of it and move on. This is the way you grow. You do not grow when you accept other peoples excuses.

Step up and accept responsibility for your failure.

Use these four tips to bounce back.

The hard truth about caring about things is that things will go wrong. Here is how to work your way out of the funk that comes with that.

1. Take a “this too shall pass attitude”. As hard as it is to accept when you are feeling down, most things get better over time.

2. Surround yourself with positive people. Move closer to people you know will support you and avoid the naysayers in your life.

3. Take action. Do something, anything. Action of some type will give you your sense of control back.

4. Use positive self-talk. Concentrate on verbalizing positive things about yourself and your situation. Gradually your mind will accept this and turn things around for you.

Ready to give these tips a try?

Three ways to get your motivation back when life lets you down.

Sometimes the wind just goes out of our sales after a setback. Here is how to bounce back.

Need to get your mojo back? Try these tricks.

1. Relook at your goals and see if your actions have gone off course.

2. Determine if you are letting too many negative people and thoughts come into your life.

3. Make sure you start on your goals early in the day so they don’t get lost.

Remember you are the final judge of how things are going. As long as you are comfortable with your goals and are taking action towards them you are on the right track.

Hang in there.

How to remain happy even when you are failing.

Failing is a bummer, but it doesn’t have to be a downer.

Failing can be really, really depressing, no doubt about it. And when we really want to be happy it seems to hit us harder. The key to overcome this is to modify your goals away from absolute success and to incorporate factors that let you get credit for learning from failure.
When you are faced with a failure and you give yourself credit for trying to learn from what happened, you give yourself hope while gaining satisfaction from you efforts. This translates to happiness.

Ready to take a shot at reframing failure into happiness?

Good intentions are not enough.

Only results count.

Almost everyone has good intentions, but only a select few has any results at the end of the day. The reasons for this fall off are as varied as the people that had the good intentions. Some set unreasonable goals, others set the wrong goals and most did not translate their good intentions into goals at all. Most of us have a pattern as to why we don’t accomplish the things we want. We may always spend most of the day on social media, others talk themselves out of doing anything due to self limiting beliefs. You probably have a pretty good idea of what road blocks you set up for yourself.

Pick a good intention and make it happen today.

The one thing that will remove your feeling of worthlessness.

You change your life until you change your current beliefs and this includes removing your feeling of worthlessness.

We all have at least one area of our life in which we feel worthless. Chances are someone else gave you that feeling and you have run from anything in that area since then. You need to take back that area one step at a time. When you think about being worthless in some area ask yourself what baby step can you take to feel the fear and do it anyway. Then take that step. Give yourself credit for what you did and realize that you are taking your life back.

What baby step can you take right now?

You life will go smoother if you practice the “Art Of Allowing”.

The “Art Of Allowing” means to allow other people and things to exist as they are while allowing the things you are focused on to come into your life.

If we concentrate more on what we want and less on what is outside you range of control we will move ahead much faster. It is difficult to turn down our focus on things that annoy us or are different than what we want in the world as a whole. However, to the extent that we can do this, we will find more of the things we want will come to us. Our energy is focused on what we want and less diluted by other things.

What can you turn down the volume on right now?

Four good things about failure.

Sure failure hurts but here are four reasons it could be your friend.

Failure almost always teaches you something. You paid the price so why not learn from it.

You generally have to go through failure to get to success. With a failure you are one step closer to success.

Dealing with failure gives you something to be genuinely proud of. Not everyone can do it, but you can.

Think of a recent failure and see how these principles apply.

Are you a failure?

It depends on how you look at it.

Trying to determine if we are a success or a failure haunts us most of the time. And yet the answer is that in most cases it depends on very arbitrary measurements and comes down to us deciding which way we want to judge it. You can spend your life analyzing a situation and trying to put a label on it. Or you save yourself a lot of grief and say what you learned and move on to another project. From a productivity standpoint, moving on is the way to go. More importantly, from a self esteem perspective, the best approach is to give yourself the benefit of the doubt and move on as well.

I declare you the winner, and it is time to move on.

Poor me and “Pour Me Another” are connected.

Self-pity has its place, but it can be self-destructive.

We all have bad days and have plenty of reasons to say “poor me”. But saying “pour me another” is probably not the answer. You will end up feeling better if you identify what went wrong, come up with a fix and at least make some attempt at getting back on track. You will have your sense of self-control back.

Next time you say “Pour me another”, make sure it is a celebration.
