What are your conversations about?

If you are talking about your aspirations you are good. If you are talking about your envy, anger or gossiping you are in trouble.

Winners talk about what they want and what they are doing to get it. Losers talk about what they don’t have and all the negative feelings around them. Listen to yourself when you have conversations. What is your focus. Is it things that will move you ahead. If it is not, you are not only wasting your time, you are pulling yourself down.

How to be so good they can’t ignore you.

Deliberate practice is the key.

In order to get better you have to set up a system that gives you feedback as to how you are doing and then practice getting better in the areas that need development. Putting the time in on getting better is not enough, you have to know how you are doing. Look at what you are doing and break out tasks you can measure. Take these measures and develop ways to improve them. That is where your practice will pay off.

Be an early bird if you want to be successful.

Study after study shows that the most successful people tend to be early birds.

Early to bed and early to rise pretty much sums up one of the keys to success. I can’t explain why it works, lots of research says it does though. Start moving yourself in the direction of going to bed earlier and getting up earlier. Think of it as a version of the semiannual time change, only one that is designed to raise your productivity , not some farmers.

Four ideas to eliminate right now if you want to be successful.

Our thoughts are the key to our success or failure.

These thoughts can get you in big trouble if you let them run your life.

1. Thinking you are always right. This closes you off from new ideas and that is the key to moving ahead.

2. Thinking that your past determines your future, particularly if you focus on the negative. Every day you start with a clean slate, use it.

3. Thinking that you are a victim. By taking responsibility for what happens to you, you gain control of your life and your self-esteem goes up.

4. Thinking about what others think about you. You give up your own values and standards by doing this. You are perfect as you are.

Your habits are the key to a better life.

You are what you do on a regular basis and habits are the key to that.

Habits make up 43% of what we do each day, so having habits that move our life ahead will pretty much guarantee a successful life. One of the things that hold us back is that we have habits that work against us, and because habits operate under the radar, we don’t even notice them. So you will need to weed out the bad habits while planting new ones. Set the bar low at first when you are starting or stopping habits. Take your time and you will make it happen.

Start a habits group if you want to make real progress.

Good habits lead to good outcomes and a habits group can make it happen.

Replacing bad habits with good habits is a proven method of moving your life ahead. But many people have trouble doing this. Forming a group of two or more people to meet in person or via phone to share your objectives and progress is one way to get your habits seated. The group holds you accountable and focuses your attention on what you need to do.

Pick a habit you want to start and then pick up the phone to call a friend to share it with.

Here are five quick and easy steps to start you on the way to becoming the person you want to be.

1. Take your top goal and find something you can do to help you attain it, then do it.

2. Do one thing to improve your health right now such as putting down that cookie and doing one sit up.

3. List seven things you are grateful for right now.

4. Ask someone for help on something that is holding you back.

5. Say no to someone that wants to waste your time.

Don’t worry about which is the best one to do first, just pick one and do it now!

1. Fail at achieving your original plan. You need to be flexible as things change.

2. Fail at feeling completely prepared and confident. You need to start before you are ready.

3. Fail at pleasing everyone, you can never make everyone happy, why try?

4. Fail at feeling OK all the time. You will have stress if you are putting yourself out there.

5. Fail at doing it all yourself. You can never do it all yourself.

If you are buying lottery tickets, you are donating to your state’s education fund. Why not use that money to buy book and start your own education fund?

Educating yourself is the best investment you could ever make. The payback will come for the rest of your life. Not so with lottery tickets even if you win. Hold off on buying those lottery tickets and save enough to buy a book, CD or DVD that will move you ahead. It can be in your work area or your personal life. They all will deliver way more and are almost a sure thing.
