Your life is right now, right here!

Life is not what happened before, that’s history. Life’s not later, that’s the future.

Many of us spend out life waiting for our life to begin. We have all these great plans for what needs to happen before life begins. Things will be great once so and so happens. . Your life is right now. It will always be right now. You might as well decide to start enjoying your life right now, because it’s not ever going to get better than right now—until it gets better right now!

This is your life, go for it!

It’s time to feel alive again.

How long has it been since you felt truly alive? For most of us, it is a struggle to answer that. Usually we stopped feeling alive once we became adults. What happened? We took the joy out of our lives. We stopped believing we could do everything. We tell ourselves no, way before anyone else does. Our inner voice puts more and more restrictions on us and shuts down most of our focus on fun things. Keep your focus on doing what you need to do but keep an eye open for small “harmless” ways you can bring fun and aliveness back into your life. Step by step you will feel an aliveness you haven’t felt in years.

Turn off you TV to turn on your life.

Even though TVs get lighter every year, they are a huge weight on your life. Every day a new study comes out showing the more you watch TV, the more you tend to weigh, the more depressed you are, the less money you make and so on. Do you really have to watch that much news? It is no accident that most of the ads that run during the news are for prescription drugs. And watching TV before you go to sleep almost guarantees bad dreams. Cut your TV time down and use the time saved to move your life ahead. Exercise, read uplifting and educational material, focus on your relationships, whatever. Just cut down on TV to move your life ahead.

Be more realistic in order to be more punctual.

The number one reason you are late for something is that we tend to underestimate how long a task will take. This backs up your day and each failure makes things worse. Researchers call this the “planning fallacy” which shows that certain people have a strong tendency to underestimate task completion times. Type A’s are better at this than Type B’s because they pay more attention to detail and tend to be more “buttoned up”. So if you want to improve your punctuality, you need to get better at estimating how long each task you are involved with, will take. Break each task down into detailed steps to get a better and more realistic grasp of the time involved. Then face up to the fact you can’t do it all, you have to cut back on your commitments. Planning to do more, doesn’t create the time to do it, time stays the same. And so does you ability to only do so much in a given amount of time. Get real about your time management and get on with your life.

Change your “story” to change your life.

Almost all of us have a “story” we tell others and ourselves. It is what we think of ourselves, what we think we can do and what we cannot do. About 85% of the time it is a negative story. “I am not good at…, Nothing will ever change…, and so on.” People believe it when you tell them your story and limit the opportunities they will give you. Worse yet, you believe the story and limit yourself even more. . Step one in turning this around is to listen to what you tell others. You will be amazed if you truly listen to what you say. Then if it is negative, just stop saying it from that point on. You will make your life better right there. The same goes for what is passing through you mind. This is huge. After that, begin to craft a new story, a positive story. One that stretches you image a bit. As you get accustomed to your new story, stretch it a bit again. Keep doing this and you will have created a huge new life for yourself. And it will be based on the real you.

Stop waiting to be selected by someone. Set things up so that you pick yourself.

Make yourself the winner in your own contest. We spend an enormous part of our lives waiting for someone else to approve our project, hire us, and declare us the winner and so on. And I hate to say it, but the odds are usually against us. Find away to build your own ballpark and play by your own rules. Publish your book yourself; start you own part time business for instance. You have a special set of talents that the world is waiting for and by avoiding the gatekeepers of the world; you can share them with the world. After all, who is going to say no?

The good news is that I can guarantee you will always get what you are looking for. The bad news is that this will include the negative things you focus on. You get what you focus on; it just can’t be any other way. There are a million theories about why this happens but you can accept it as fact. So if you focus on what you don’t want, guess what you get? Yep, bad stuff. You can make this concept work for you by turning your focus on what you want. It is amazing, but once you start to focus on more good stuff, more good stuff shows up in your life.
