One Minute Motivator # 342

Forget you past, forgive yourself and begin again.

The past is such a drag, it keeps pulling you back and stopping you from fully appreciating the present, much less the future.

Even if the past was mostly good, human nature causes us to focus on the negatives. We just have to learn to give it up for the most part and concentrate on living in the here and now. Find some way to acknowledge your mistakes, realize you learned from them, and you won’t make those mistakes again. Then forgive yourself and drop that baggage.

Are you ready to drop the guilt and live your life?

The proven secret to happiness.

Spend 15 continuous minutes a day thinking happy thoughts.

A fascinating study was done using brain scans to determine what lead to happiness. The technique that held up over time was to build a base of meditation in which you focused on happy thoughts. Particularly those thoughts that had you helping others. Starting with what ever time you could set aside for it and gradually building on the time meditating on happy thoughts, happiness levels went up and lasted for longer and longer periods. 15 minutes seemed the optimum amount of time.

Have you got 15 minutes to improve your happiness?

Guilt is one thing, shame is quite another.

Guilt can help you learn and grown, shame can kill you.

We all need guilt, because we need to know when we’ve done something wrong. We need to be able to feel remorse and we need to be able to put it right. Shame is highly toxic, because it massively effects our own sense of self-image. If you are carrying around shame, it is time to ask yourself if it merits the toll it is taking. Can you take your shame apart, learn from it and move on?

Is it time to learn your lessons and feel better about yourself?

Four things to give up today.

Stop doing these things today and you will have a perfect life.

1. Doubting yourself. There are plenty of people to do that for you.

2. Procrastination. Once you start you will wonder why you ever hesitated.

3. Fear of success. This is hard to spot, but man is it powerful.

4. Perfectionism. Getting to perfect is just never worth it.

OK, which one are you giving up first?

Many people want to make you their pawn. Don’t let them.

So many people need you to behave in a certain way for them to feel good. They condemn you for your selfishness.

As you go through life you will be pulled in many different ways by people that want to use you for their own ends. Guilt, blame, threats and so on are heaped on you. I won’t tell you that you can avoid all of it. You probably can’t. But at least make yourself aware of the level of this kind of stuff that is aimed at you. Start chipping away at the things you don’t truly want to do and you will feel your life starting to get better.

What steps can you take to lessen being “used” today?

Own your problems.

Take responsibility for the bad things that happened to you in the past, even if you are totally convinced they were not caused by you.

No matter what has happened to you, take complete responsibility for it—good or bad, victory or defeat. Own it. We resist taking ownership of issues we had in the past, because it is painful to think we had something to do with them. But while painful, it is freeing to do it. If you spend time fighting things in the past, you are working on something you can’t help and you are no longer moving forward.

Now is the time to own a problem from the past that is bugging you.

It hasn’t been decided yet.

All your life people have told you that you weren’t born with the right DNA, etc, to be successful. Well you get to choose if that decision is correct or not.

As you go through your life, people are constantly telling you that you aren’t cut out for this, you don’t have the right genes and so on. Well they may be right, but odds are that they are wrong. What you are cut out for is really up to you and it hasn’t been decided yet because you have not really given it a shot. It is time to stop holding yourself back from really trying something because others told you that you don’t have the right stuff.

Take what you have been holding back on and give it your all. Then you can finally make the right decision.

Let The 2% Go.

No matter how hard you try at least 2% of the people you are dealing with at any moment, won’t get it. It is not worth the effort to try.

You can’t please all the people all the time. Some won’t listen, some don’t care, some are not equipped mentally and so on. If you try to reach all the people, you end up using up a lot of time and energy plus harming your efforts in order to get to them. Let them go, they are not worth the extra effort from you.

OK, the 98% is waiting for you, go get em!

Your Friends Determine Your Net Worth.

Your friends make you or break you financially.

If your friends are bigger thinkers and performers than you are, you will rise to there level. On the other hand, if they are below you, you will fall to their level. You want people around you that pull and push you to do better financially. Slackers are comfortable but you know success is all about getting out of your comfort zone.

You comfort zone applies to your friends as well. Get out of your friends comfort zone and start making what you deserve.
