Now is the time to be the person you could have been.

The number one regret people have is that they did not become the person they could have been.

Very very few people become all they could have been. Life gets in the way and takes us away from doing so. It is a constant battle and few people put up much of a fight. The good news is that you can pick up the fight again at any time. If you know your goals you can plug your current situation into the equation and come up with a new game plan.

Life is not a life sentence.

Comparison is the thief of joy!

Looking at where you are versus where you want to be can help you or hurt you.

It is quite easy to get carried away into the realm of “I can’t wait to be … in my life”, and neglect being fully present in your current moment. Deciding on what you want is one thing, dwelling on the fact you don’t have it is another. If it helps you goal setting, fine, but if it makes you crazy it is bad news.

Focus on where you are now with gratitude and look ahead with hope.

There is nothing for you to go back and live over, or fix, or feel regret about now.

It is over and every part of your life has unfolded just right.

And so —now — knowing all that you know from where you now stand, now what do you want? Stop dwelling on the past and concentrate on who and where you are now. And then ask yourself what you want to ask the world for. You do have a future. What do you want it to be like? Like the past? Like the present? Or something different? What you want has a great deal to do with what you get.

So given who you are right now, what do you want?

Avoid the single biggest regret people have.

And that is not following through on what they are passionate about.

It is so easy to get stuck in life. we get comfortable and we don’t want to risk losing that. Time passes and there we are at the end of our lives wondering why it turned out to be so dull. There is no question that pursuing what you love is a risk. You might not be as well off or you might find out you didn’t love what you thought you did. What is for sure is that if you don’t pursue what you love, you will get to the end of your life and feel a sense of disappointment that you didn’t do it.

Take a baby step towards doing what you love today.

Be careful when choosing on what basis you will be competing in this world.

What you choose to compete on or in will become the focus of your life. Make sure it is something you want to live with.

If you choose to go out into the world and compete, you will need to pick the best basis for you to win. You may decide you are going to be faster at something, or know more about something and so on. Once you do that, it becomes your life. So will you be comfortable doing that for a long long time? Winning is one thing, enjoying it is another.

Think through where you life is headed.

Don’t die wondering.

You are full of questions about what it would be like to do certain things. Do them and find out.

We don’t want to feel regrets because we failed to heed our ambitions. You will be inspired and energized even if you try something and it fails. It’s wondering whether we should or shouldn’t do something that leaves us feeling incomplete.

Go out and live!

The one thing that will remove your feeling of worthlessness.

You change your life until you change your current beliefs and this includes removing your feeling of worthlessness.

We all have at least one area of our life in which we feel worthless. Chances are someone else gave you that feeling and you have run from anything in that area since then. You need to take back that area one step at a time. When you think about being worthless in some area ask yourself what baby step can you take to feel the fear and do it anyway. Then take that step. Give yourself credit for what you did and realize that you are taking your life back.

What baby step can you take right now?

Forget you past, forgive yourself and begin again.

The past is such a drag, it keeps pulling you back and stopping you from fully appreciating the present, much less the future.

Even if the past was mostly good, human nature causes us to focus on the negatives. We just have to learn to give it up for the most part and concentrate on living in the here and now. Find some way to acknowledge your mistakes, realize you learned from them, and you won’t make those mistakes again. Then forgive yourself and drop that baggage.

Are you ready to drop the guilt and live your life?

You weren’t born to just pay bills and die.

Most people just use 1/20th of their abilities.

It isn’t that you don’t have the ability; it is that you don’t know what to do with it. You probably don’t have tightly focused goals that tie you interests and abilities together, so you can be a laser in life. Without that you have no reason to go to any extra effort or take risks. Yet that is what is required if you are going to be the person you were meant to be.

Are you ready to live your life?

Why you are miserable even if you achieved 98% of your goal.

The answer is that you are a perfectionist and you set yourself up for failure.

I am all for total success, but most of the time it is just not worth it, that extra few points exacts a terrible cost. And by focusing on only total success you miss the benefits of a bit of failure. You don’t take the opportunity to learn and grow from failure and mistakes; you just dwell on your perceived failure.

Lower your sights just a bit and see what you learn.
