One Sentence that will cure your sense of helplessness.

Helplessness stops your progress cold, here is how to put yourself on the right track.

To move out of feeling helpless, first acknowledge that you feel helpless in an area. Then take one baby step in that area that shows you can make progress in that area, no matter how small. The use this sentence template, fill in the blanks and say it to yourself. ” I used to believe that I was helpless at _________, but now I am getting better at ________ every day.” The key you have to actually take some small action every day. If you do this, you are on your way.

Be careful when choosing on what basis you will be competing in this world.

What you choose to compete on or in will become the focus of your life. Make sure it is something you want to live with.

If you choose to go out into the world and compete, you will need to pick the best basis for you to win. You may decide you are going to be faster at something, or know more about something and so on. Once you do that, it becomes your life. So will you be comfortable doing that for a long long time? Winning is one thing, enjoying it is another.

Think through where you life is headed.

Six ways to be nicer to yourself today.

Stop taking the joy out of your life and start giving yourself some well deserved credit by using these techniques.

Take the spotlight off of the negative things in your life and do the things listed below then watch how life improves for you.

1. Start each day with some positive affirmations about yourself. Even if you don’t believe them at first, they will pull your opinion of yourself up.

2. Say “No” a lot. Stop being available to everybody for everything. Get your life back by gaining control of your schedule.

3. Meditate. A new calmness awaits you if you take a few minutes for this.

4. Exercise. It doesn’t have to be a major do, just start.

5. Talk to yourself like a friend. Stop beating yourself up all the time and be kind to yourself.

6. Write down your accomplishments at the end of the day. This gives you a positive feeling and helps you do more the next day.

So pick one of these things to do right now and start, I promise you will be happy with the outcome.

How to be happy doing a job you hate.

Here is how to handle it when life throws you jobs you must do even though you hate them.

First get the biggest job you hate out of the way first, this is when you have the most inner fortitude and the rest of the tasks look easy after that. Next recognize it is a means to an end, know how the job fits in with your plans, even if it is not apparent at first. Lastly practice gratitude. Focus on the good things in your life and don’t dwell on the crap work.

Try this advice out on a job you have been putting off and see how it goes.

You are not supposed to happy all the time, so relax.

Being happy all the time is not good for you, let in some other emotions.

It is easy to believe that you should be happy every moment and something is wrong with you if you aren’t. Sure it is nice to be happy, but there is something wrong with you if happiness is the only emotion you fee. When we try to force ourselves to feel just one-way, we actually cut ourselves off from our entire scope of emotion, all of which serves a purpose: namely, the negative is there to tell us that something’s wrong. If you were happy all the time you wouldn’t grow.

Let a little sadness in, it is good for you.

Sometimes there just isn’t any closure.

We all seek closure for unhappy events in our life, but life does not always give us closure.

I would like to tell you that all bad events in our life will end and that you will obtain closure and move on. But that is not the case. Life is unfair in that way. Some questions are never answered. Some wrongs are not righted. Some arguments are never settled. Accept it to the extent you can and move on as best you can.

What situations are you willing to acknowledge you are not going to get closure?

It is just not worth trying to please everybody.

Trying to make 100% of your friends, customers, relatives, etc happy is just not an efficient use of your time or money. You have to let some of them go.

Once you get past a certain point, it stops being feasible to make the remaining segment happy. That last segment takes way, way more time, effort and probably money to satisfy. Accept that you can’t please them all and be happy you have saved yourself endless grief.

Who can you let go of today?

Empty your trash before you try to move ahead.

Carrying the trash from your past stops you from achieving success.

Past failures, disappointments, etc can be a good lesson on what to do in the future, but more often they are things that we hang onto and drag us down. All this trash from the past takes up space in our minds than we need to focus on what lies ahead. And it pulls down your morale as well.

Dump your trash today and focus on the future.

Turn inconveniences into lessons.

Inconveniences usually cause us to focus on the negatives in a situation. Imagine how your life would change if these became positive situations.

Too often we see people or things that take up our time as minor headaches and we blame them for slowing us down as we go through the day. Instead we can see these things as gifts in our lives and inconveniences can be reframed as lessons for us to refocus on what is really important to us. You can learn what others are doing wrong and avoid them in your activities.

Now is the chance to look forward to your next inconvenience so you can learn something.

You have to say “Thank You” if you want more gifts from life.

If you gave someone a gift and they did not thank you, would you give that person a gift again? Life is the same way.

You have been given a number of gifts in this life, but have you said “Thank You”? Have you even acknowledged these gifts to yourself? It is just one of those rules of life that you can’t get around; you have to appreciate what you have. Grumpy begets grumpy, happiness breeds happiness.
