Five things you must fail at in order to be successful.

Being a failure at these things almost guarantees your success.

Here are five things to fail at:

1. Fail at achieving your original plan. You need to be flexible as things change.

2. Fail at feeling completely prepared and confident. You need to start before you are ready.

3. Fail at pleasing everyone, you can never make everyone happy, why try?

4. Fail at feeling OK all the time. You will have stress if you are putting yourself out there.

5. Fail at doing it all yourself. You can never do it all yourself.

OK are you ready to fail in order to make it big?

Use the money you spend on lottery tickets to build your own education fund.

If you are buying lottery tickets, you are donating to your state’s education fund. Why not use that money to buy book and start your own education fund?

Educating yourself is the best investment you could ever make. The payback will come for the rest of your life. Not so with lottery tickets even if you win. Hold off on buying those lottery tickets and save enough to buy a book, CD or DVD that will move you ahead. It can be in your work area or your personal life. They all will deliver way more and are almost a sure thing.

Buy a book and hit the jackpot for yourself.

Stop checking your email so often.

Instead of helping your work, checking your email tends to decrease your productivity.

Sure you need to stay up to speed, but almost everyone way overdoes it. If there is an emergency you will surly here about it. Your boss will call or even come over to see you about something urgent. What is in your inbox can wait. When you open the inbox you are inviting distraction and a loss of productivity. Limit your email checking to once in the morning and once in the afternoon and see what you missed. Chances are not much.

Whatever you do, do not leave this site and check your email.

Become an extremist.

Make yourself into a person that obtains success beyond any norm.

You can’t be normal and achieve extraordinary results. You cannot have extreme productivity without taking extreme measures. Extreme productivity can only begin with a zero tolerance for unproductive activity. Being normal just isn’t going to cut it.

It is your choice today, be normal and get what you always have gotten or become an extremist and attain success.

Plan for what will go right before you plan for what can go wrong.

Planning for what can go wrong puts a negative spin on a project and holds back its potential.

Sure planning for what can go wrong can be helpful. But not until you have worked out what can go right. You want the focus to be positive for as long as you can. Once you shift to negative planning, your project loses its momentum and the focus is on protection rather than growth.

What can you turn your positive focus on today?

Don’t forget to consider duration and intensity when setting goals.

How long you should continue an activity related to your goal and at what intensity is rarely listed as factors when setting goals. This is a mistake.

Sure you know the basics of setting S.M.A.R.T. goals but these leave out two things you need to consider. Just how long are you going to work on the goal in a day? And how hard are you going to work on the goal when you do work on it? These two factors can radically alter the results you achieve when working on your goals.

Go back over your top goals and plug in some duration and intensity factors right now.

Success comes from focusing on what you can control.

The most powerful changes happen in your life when you decide to take control of what you do have power over instead of craving control over everything you don’t.

Let’s face it; you only have so much time, energy and money. You can’t do it all, nor should you. Sure you need priorities, but they have to be within the things you can change. Once you start to work with what you can control, you productivity and success rate shoots up.

What is your top priority among things you can control?

I know you are asking the right questions. But are you answering them?

Most people tend to question what they are doing, but then they don’t wait for the answer.

Questioning what you are doing is a great way to see if you are on course with your goals and other aspects of your life. But it there is even the slightest pause in an answer coming back, we tend to move on without waiting for the answer. This causes us to miss some very valuable information about where we are at in our lives. You are just a few seconds away from incredibly useful feedback, but you walk away from it.

Wait for the answers to your questions, you will be amazed at what is coming.

How to motivate others.

The key to motivating others is to be enthusiastic about what you want done.

The more excited you are about accomplishing something that is important to you, the more excited others will be about helping you to do it. The fact is that emotions are contagious. The more passion you have for your life and your activities, the more charisma you will possess, and the more cooperation you will gain from others.

Now is the time to get excited about what you want done.

Here is where you need to start right now.

Confused about where to start right now? Just start anywhere, just as long as you start.

Most of us spend much of our “working” time trying to decide where to start. As a result our productivity drops, we lose our enthusiasm for work and other such negative things occur. What you need to do it just start on something at the first sign of indecision. This way you get your momentum going and it is easy to shift over to a higher priority task and you feel good about working.

Stop worrying about where to start and get started on something right now.
