One Minute Motivator # 441

Your image of the future is what guides your current actions.

Having a positive image of the future will cause you to take positive actions.

Few things kill energy and ambition faster than having a negative view of the future. I mean what is the use if it is not going to make any difference? On the other hand if you think the future is going to be good you will fill with energy and ambition. So if you want to get ahead, it only makes sense to adopt a positive attitude.

How does the future look to you?

People will always be offering you excuses. Don’t take them.

Out of kindness many people will offer you excuses for why you failed. They are hurting you instead.

If you accept other people excuses, you stop learning about what really went wrong and you are almost certain to fail again If you really want to succeed you must face your failure and learn how to make the best of it and move on. This is the way you grow. You do not grow when you accept other peoples excuses.

Step up and accept responsibility for your failure.

Criticism is just someone else’s opinion.

Even people who are experts in their fields are sometimes wrong.

When facing criticism, it is up to you to choose whether to believe some of it, none of it, or all of it. What you think is what counts. The greatest fear when we make a mistake is that others will judge us negatively. Others often use criticism out of their own insecurity. It says more about them than it does about us. When we take on a difficult task, we have to ensure that we are doing it for ourselves, not for the approval of anyone else. In that case, failure is far easier to deal with.

Let them say what they want, just do what you think is right.

Stop pitying yourself.

Self pity only makes things worse for you.

If you spend time feeling sorry for yourself for any length of time, you are stopping your progress. Yes, setbacks hurt and yes you should acknowledge them. But don’t get stuck in self pity. Chances are, no one is coming to save you and it will be up to you to fix your problem. So Instead use the time to see what went wrong and what you can do to fix it. Then do what you can to fix it.

Wipe away the tears and see what you can do to improve things.

Stop requiring the world to be the way you want it.

If you use the way the world is as your measuring stick you are sure to be miserable.

When we use the world as our frame of reference we are setting ourselves up for failure. This is because we can’t control the world or very much around us. You will be much happier if you set up measurements around things you can control such as yourself.

How do you really measure up?

Here is the main reason you are not succeeding.

Your self-image does not match who you want to become.

If your self-image does not match the person you want to become, no amount of goal setting will help you. Do some serious thinking about who you think you are. If you do not like yourself very much, you need to work on changing your self-image. Things like affirmations, positive self-talk, associating with positive people, etc. will all move your self-image up a notch.

It is time to acknowledge you are way better than you think you are.

Here is how to keep other people from pulling you down.

The sad truth is that most of the people around you want you to fail.

They may not even know it but most people will throw roadblocks in front of your efforts to succeed. You can’t control them but you can control how you respond. You have to keep your self confidence up through the use of affirmations and taking positive action. You deserve to be happy and successful. Keep a list of your past accomplishments, even if they are small. Remember them when the Nay Sayers come around and keep on keeping on.

Stay strong!

The one thing that will remove your feeling of worthlessness.

You change your life until you change your current beliefs and this includes removing your feeling of worthlessness.

We all have at least one area of our life in which we feel worthless. Chances are someone else gave you that feeling and you have run from anything in that area since then. You need to take back that area one step at a time. When you think about being worthless in some area ask yourself what baby step can you take to feel the fear and do it anyway. Then take that step. Give yourself credit for what you did and realize that you are taking your life back.

What baby step can you take right now?

Forget you past, forgive yourself and begin again.

The past is such a drag, it keeps pulling you back and stopping you from fully appreciating the present, much less the future.

Even if the past was mostly good, human nature causes us to focus on the negatives. We just have to learn to give it up for the most part and concentrate on living in the here and now. Find some way to acknowledge your mistakes, realize you learned from them, and you won’t make those mistakes again. Then forgive yourself and drop that baggage.

Are you ready to drop the guilt and live your life?

Why playing the victim really holds you back.

We all have times when we are a legitimate victim, but there are times when we play the victim and this hurts our progress.

When we play the victim we avoid taking responsibility for something and it is only by taking responsibility that we can fix something. As a victim you don’t have control over something. Control is key to success though. As a victim you are waiting for someone else to save you. This may or may not happen and then you are stuck in a losing position.

What is the biggest thing you have been a victim of and how can you turn it around by taking control.
