Having a positive image of the future will cause you to take positive actions.

Few things kill energy and ambition faster than having a negative view of the future. I mean what is the use if it is not going to make any difference? On the other hand if you think the future is going to be good you will fill with energy and ambition. So if you want to get ahead, it only makes sense to adopt a positive attitude.

Do you know what life would have to be like in order for you to be happy?

That’s it, that is the key question you should ask yourself when you are feeling miserable. Once you know what you want in order to be happy, many times the road to happiness opens up. Miserable people tend to focus on their misery, but not on the solution. And knowing what you want frequently gives you the solution. Follow the bread crumbs of what you want and suddenly you will find yourself in a place you want to be.

You don’t have to wait until things are perfect to be happy.

You can find a way to be happy while working on your issues.

Many people shut themselves out from happiness by telling themselves that things have to be perfect before they are entitled to be happy. It is a matter of focus. If you focus on what is wrong, happiness can’t break through. On the other hand if you focus on what you are doing to work though your issues, happiness can occur.

Here is the first step towards being happy.

Learn what makes you happy. Sounds simple doesn’t it, but you would be surprised.

Many people really don’t have a firm understanding of what really makes them happy. They are so busy with their lives, they have not sorted out their feelings and they have changed over time. They know what they don’t like and what they kind of like but that is pretty much it. So you have to begin to take an inventory of what experiences make you happy.

Begin to sort out your feelings of happiness so you can bring more of them into your life.

Stop requiring the world to be the way you want it.

If you use the way the world is as your measuring stick you are sure to be miserable.

When we use the world as our frame of reference we are setting ourselves up for failure. This is because we can’t control the world or very much around us. You will be much happier if you set up measurements around things you can control such as yourself.

How to stop denying reality about something you don’t like.

Unpleasant realities can never be hidden, they just get you in different ways.

When we are in denial about something we don’t want to think about, we find that different forms of unpleasantness creep into our lives. We are just uncomfortable. Still we won’t let that negative reality in and the circle continues. The way to deal with this is to accept the unpleasant feelings you are getting and not try to push them away. Once you are OK, with say, being depressed at times, you will find that the underlying reason you are feeling depressed can be dealt with as you have already paid the price(depression) that you were trying to avoid.

It is always sunny above the clouds.

If you look above the day to day irritations and setbacks, you will see the sun or possibilities for you.

All that day to day stuff keeps pulling our focus down. We lose sight of our goals. As hard as it is to do, if you step back and remember why we are involved in this stuff and where it is supposed to lead, your focus will change. Things fall into perspective and our energy and morale improves. Life is fun again.

Three proven ways to be happier.

The following techniques are guaranteed to make you happier.

Spend more time with friends and family. This means face to face time, not texting, etc. This social network is extremely powerful in creating a feeling of well being.

Be grateful for what you have. The more you remind yourself of the good things in your life the happier you will be. Even if it does not seem like much, find positive things in your life and focus on them.

Act like you are happy even if are not. Your body will fool your mind into actually being happy. It sounds weird but it really works.

These techniques are free and don’t take a lot of time. And you will begin to see results right away.

Here is how to keep other people from pulling you down.

The sad truth is that most of the people around you want you to fail.

They may not even know it but most people will throw roadblocks in front of your efforts to succeed. You can’t control them but you can control how you respond. You have to keep your self confidence up through the use of affirmations and taking positive action. You deserve to be happy and successful. Keep a list of your past accomplishments, even if they are small. Remember them when the Nay Sayers come around and keep on keeping on.

Use these four tips to bounce back.

The hard truth about caring about things is that things will go wrong. Here is how to work your way out of the funk that comes with that.

1. Take a “this too shall pass attitude”. As hard as it is to accept when you are feeling down, most things get better over time.

2. Surround yourself with positive people. Move closer to people you know will support you and avoid the naysayers in your life.

3. Take action. Do something, anything. Action of some type will give you your sense of control back.

4. Use positive self-talk. Concentrate on verbalizing positive things about yourself and your situation. Gradually your mind will accept this and turn things around for you.
