Put advice in the positive if you want it to happen.

Instead of “don’t forget”, say remember to.

It has been proven that saying something like “don’t forget to do x” will result in it being forgotten many times, whereas saying “remember to do x” will be more likely to make it happen. Something in our mind latches on to the “forget” or “remember” and act on those key words.

Remember to use “remember” in your requests.

Criticism is just someone else’s opinion.

Even people who are experts in their fields are sometimes wrong.

When facing criticism, it is up to you to choose whether to believe some of it, none of it, or all of it. What you think is what counts. The greatest fear when we make a mistake is that others will judge us negatively. Others often use criticism out of their own insecurity. It says more about them than it does about us. When we take on a difficult task, we have to ensure that we are doing it for ourselves, not for the approval of anyone else. In that case, failure is far easier to deal with.

Let them say what they want, just do what you think is right.
