Use it or lose it applies to your concentration as well.

The less you practice concentration the less you have the ability to concentrate.

Concentration is much like a muscle, you have to use it in order to keep it. If you constantly flit from one task to another or never really focus much on something your ability to concentrate is reduced. The power of concentration has to be built up over time by gradually making an effort to concentrate on things more.

Give yourself some things to concentrate on and start building you ability to concentrate back up.

Multitasking lowers your IQ.

Researchers have proven that multitasking lowers your IQ by 10 points.

Multitasking is done by switching your focus from one thing to another rapidly. It is impossible for the brain to focus on two things at once, it is all just a rapid change in focus. This is not a very efficient process for the brain and your effectiveness drops as a result of it. Multitasking is a tradeoff you have to take into consideration. Are you gaining enough from changing focus to offset the loss in efficiency?

Chances are you will be better off reducing your multitasking.
