Ten minutes a day can keep a goal alive.

Just working on a goal, even if it is for a few minutes stops it from slipping away from you.

When you have a busy, complicated life it is hard to keep focused on your goals. And we tend to only work on one or two and let the others slide. After awhile you just drop the goals you have not done anything on. If you want to keep your goals alive the secret it to devote a little time and effort towards them each day. But it does not have to be a lot. Even ten minutes will keep a goal alive.

Check over your goals right now and see which ones need a little quality time with you.

This works way better than a “to do” list.

Putting things on your schedule or calendar is the way to make sure things will get done.

To do lists are more like dreams for most people. You just add and add and cross very few things off. If you put things on your schedule, you have to make time for it and it is likely to happen. This forces your hand when it comes to prioritizing. You end up with a manageable list of things you will do. And your confidence builds as you sense things will really get done.

What gets scheduled gets done.

Success is not a part time job.

Strive for consistent movement towards your goals.

I am not expecting major breakthroughs on a regular basis, but I do expect you to take some action towards your goals every day. These do not have to be massive actions, baby steps are fine. In fact baby steps are better at keeping you motivated in the long run. Every day look at your goals then look at what is going on in the world today and then take some action however small towards your goal.

The one thing that will remove your feeling of worthlessness.

You change your life until you change your current beliefs and this includes removing your feeling of worthlessness.

We all have at least one area of our life in which we feel worthless. Chances are someone else gave you that feeling and you have run from anything in that area since then. You need to take back that area one step at a time. When you think about being worthless in some area ask yourself what baby step can you take to feel the fear and do it anyway. Then take that step. Give yourself credit for what you did and realize that you are taking your life back.

What baby step can you take right now?

How setting goals can hurt you.

If you set goals built around avoiding something you will focus on what you don’t want instead of what you do want.

Typically we set goals to change something bad that happened to us and this does not let us focus on the big things we really want in life. We focus on getting some irritation or disappointment out of our life. This causes us to miss the big picture and go on with an unfulfilled life.

Step back from your disappointments and focus on what really matters to you when setting goals.

The curious case of the missing goals.

It was a dark and stormy night and I woke up without a clue as what to do.
My goals were gone.

I rely on my goals help me make the best use of my time, money and effort and suddenly I was clueless. I had become “Common Man”, drifting along and doing whatever anyone else wanted me to do. My life wasn’t my own anymore. My outlook on life soured and my energy dropped.

A life without goals is no life at all.

You need an Accountability Partner.

An Accountability Partner takes your goal setting to a whole new level.

An Accountability Partner is someone you use to help make sure you do what you said you were going to do. It is someone you tell what you plan to do and trust enough to have them monitor your progress. I hate to say it but knowing someone is going to check up on you is a tremendous motivator.

How to find your path.

The search for whom or what we were meant to be seems to go on forever, so here is how to speed the process.

The first step is to lighten up. Finding your path takes a gentle touch and cannot be forced. Lightening up lays the groundwork for what will ultimately lead to the answer you want. You need to listen and watch what is going on inside you and how you interact with the world in order to find the clues as to what you were meant for. You need to live in the moment and ignore previous assumptions. Then and only then will the message of who you are meant to be get through to you.

The message is waiting, turn down the volume and you will hear it.

To be happy forget R & R, get active instead.

New research shows that activity is the key to happiness, not sitting around waiting for it.

Passive methods of seeking happiness just don’t cut it when put to the test. Actively doing things that move you into a happier place is the answer. Exercise is one of the top ways to improve your happiness. No need to kill yourself, just get moving. Same for group activities. Anything that gets you out interacting with other people takes the blues away.

Stop trying to think you way into happiness and get moving.

Decide what you want to accomplish.

I mean really decide, know in real terms what it is, no whishy wash.

You can’t accomplish anything of significance unless you decide you want it. Yes, there is luck, but good luck with luck. Making things happen requires a plan, then action, measurement of results, etc. None of this can happen with some nebulous idea. It requires specifics. So if you are not working on a goal that is totally buttoned up, you are going nowhere.

Look at one of your goals right now and see if your really have decided on it.
